Home remedies for Common ailments

Sunburn
Mix 2 teaspoon tomato juice and 4 tablespoon buttermilk and apply on the face. Leave for 1/2 hour, and wash off with cold water. Very effective and soothing home treatment for sun-burns. Alternatively mix olive oil with equal quantity of vinegar and apply an hour before your bath for sunburn relief and relaxation. Make a paste of Barley, turmeric and yogurt in equal proportions. Apply it over the area of sunburns for sunburn relief and treatment. A thin paste of sandalwood applied to the sunburn area is beneficial and extremely soothing

Wrinkles
Apply coconut oil on the portions of skin and face where wrinkles set in and gently massage every night at bed time. Banana is wonderful as an anti-wrinkle treatment. Mash 1/4 banana until it becomes very creamy. Spread all over face and leave for 15-20 minutes before rinsing off with warm water followed by a dash of cold water. Gently pat dry and you will see the difference very soon. It also gives freshness to your skin and makes it more shining.

Common Cold
For dry and stuffy nose, try normal saline or salt water nasal drops made by adding 1/4 teaspoon of table salt to about 4 ml lukewarm water. Make a fresh solution every few days keeping it in refrigerator. Use a clean dropper to instill 1 to 2 drops in each nostril about 3 to 4 times daily for common cold. Garlic juice made by adding few drops of garlic oil to a teaspoonful of onion juice and diluting it in a cup of water is helpful for common cold. Ginger tea or a teaspoonful of ginger juice taken with equal quantity of honey brings relief from common cold. For kids and adults alike, almonds are excellent for treating running nose and cold. 2-3 almonds for adults and 1-2 for kids taken in the morning empty stomachs are excellent. You may also add ½ tbls of fine turmeric powder to a cup of hot milk and take at bed time. Work wonders. Do not take anything after this and your cold will be treated very soon.

Cough
Soak almonds overnight. Remove their skin. Make a paste of these almonds with little butter and sugar. Very useful for a dry cough. Hot tea with lemon and raspberry jam, drink as much as possible. Drink hot milk with honey at bedtime for cough relief. Fresh milk cream (1 tbls) with a pinch of salt taken at bed time is also helpful in case of wet cough. Don't have anything (not even water) after taking this.

Low BP
Drink a glass of raw beetroot juice 2 times a day, for at least a week first thing in the morning and you will see the difference.

High BP
Mix 1/2 onion juice and 1/2 honey. Take 2 tbls once a day for 1-2 weeks. Eat 1 Papaya on an empty stomach daily for a month. Do not eat anything after for about 2 hours.
